Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how haggle ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you play our daily price-guessing game at haggle.gg. By using haggle, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
haggle is designed to work with as little personal information as possible.
- Anonymous play: game progress, guesses, streaks, and results are stored locally in your browser (Local Storage). No account is required.
- Optional account: if you sign in, we store your email address, a user ID, and your game history (daily results, scores, streaks) so your stats can sync across devices.
- Third-party sign-in: if you sign in with Google, we receive your email and a unique identifier from that provider. We do not receive your password.
- Basic technical data: like most sites, our hosting provider processes standard request data (IP address, user agent, timestamps) to serve the app and prevent abuse.
2. How we use your information
- To run the daily game and show you your history and streak.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and technical issues.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to serve behavioral advertising.
3. Products and affiliate links
Products shown in haggle come from a third-party retail catalog API. When you tap "Buy it", you are taken to a merchant's site via an affiliate link. If you make a purchase, we may earn a commission. We do not receive your payment details — the transaction happens entirely on the merchant's site under the merchant's own privacy policy.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use browser Local Storage to remember your anonymous game state (today's guesses, streak, and settings). If you sign in, we also use a session cookie/token so you stay logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
5. Sharing your information
We share information only with the service providers that make haggle work:
- Our hosting and database provider, which stores accounts and game results on our behalf.
- Our product catalog provider, which supplies product data. We do not send them your personal information — only the requests needed to fetch products.
- Authentication providers (e.g. Google) if you use them to sign in.
- Where required by law, valid legal process, or to protect our rights and users.
6. Data retention
Anonymous local data stays in your browser until you clear it. Account data is retained while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and associated game history at any time (see "Contact" below).
7. Your choices and rights
- Play without an account. Simply don't sign in.
- Clear local data. Clear your browser's Local Storage for haggle.gg to wipe anonymous game history on that device.
- Access, correction, deletion. If you have an account, contact us to access, correct, or delete your data.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA.
8. Children
haggle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our database. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we work to keep haggle safe.
10. International users
haggle is operated from the United States. If you use haggle from outside the US, your information will be processed in the US and other countries where our providers operate.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
